Return of the Neurotic Jedi

Well, I'm back in New York after my extended holiday. I've made a good deal of progress in identifying the root of my problems, and I'm taking the first of many, many steps to deal with them. The biggest, I suppose, is my general lack of faith, both in the future, and in myself.

In the meantime, I picked up a bit of cooking/shopping skills, and a big ol' time management ledger as well. All part of the ongoing master plan (if you want to call it that).

In, I want to say eighth grade, we got dragged to some goof-tastic show in the Bartlesville Community Center; think "Up With People" meets "The Electric Company." Done screaming yet? Good. I don't remember much about it, and I'm grateful for it, but one line from the last of their excruciatingly saccharine songs stuck with me: "The first step's always the hardest one when you change the world." Brother, they knew what they were talking about.

Postscript: One of my comics this week will be the Wildguard: Fire Power one-shot. It's a sequel of sorts to last year's fun-fun-fun mini-series about a superhero reality show; after the Final Five are chosen, where does Servo City's newest superteam go from here? It's by Todd Nauck; check out the website at www.wildguard.com.
