About three months ago, I entered the "Writers of the Future" contest with a roughly 20,000-page story I wrote in January. Got the letter back today, saying I "placed in the quarterfinals." I have no idea what that means, but I choose to believe someone, somewhere at the office, liked it.
I'll probably hit the Writer's Market tonight or tomorrow to find a new home for it. The quest continues...
