I'm sorry, sir, but you're wrong. Spider-Man has a lonnnnnnng history of dangling bad guys from high heights, off ledges, dangling from webs, etc. to get information.
He's also used villains' own powers/power-sets against them in some pretty sadistic and creative ways to get them to cough up information.
In his 49 year history he's done ALL KINDS of acts of psychological torture to get bad guy's to talk.
It ain't me setting the rule here, but decades and decades worth of comics. Honest.
And, in the case of the scene that's got you upset today, if you actually read it in context, Spider-Man is bluffing and has NO intention of backing up his claim.
