Foraging For Comics: The October Marvel Solicits

The House of M gets bulldozed, Spider-Man meets "The Other," monsters take over week 5, and much more blow the cut. FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #1
Written by PETER DAVID
Pencils and Cover by MIKE WIERINGO
"THE OTHER"
This is it! The start of a 4-month Spider-Man event that crosses over all three core Spider books and promises to forever change the lives of Peter Parker and everyone close to him! Haunted by unsettling dreams. Disturbed by a growing sense of dread. Convinced that people are out to get him. A portrait of someone on the edge of a nervous breakdown? Nah. Simply a typical day for Peter Parker, as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has to contend with a new and deadly opponent named Tracer, self-defense lessons with Captain America, and some disturbing news that will change his life in a distinctly negative manner. Part 1 (of 12)!
32 PGS./T+ SUGGESTED F

I'll be buying all the Spidey books for this month, and gauging whether or not I want to stick with the crossover based on that. and I'll probably be back on FNSM and ASM in January no matter what. Yes, I am a Spider-Whore.

Written by JOE QUESADA
Art by JOE QUESADA, DANNY MIKI, RICHARD ISANOVE

Daredevil has his work cut out for him: New York's crippling heat wave shows no signs of release and a serial killer continues to cut a bloody swath through the city. But Daredevil's beginning to put together the pieces, edging closer and closer to discovering the identity of a killer who just might be hiding in plain sight...or even closer?

Of course, if he really is hiding in plain sight, DD won't be able to find him anyway. Hiyo!

NEW AVENGERS #12
Written by BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS
Pencils and Cover by DAVID FINCH
"RONIN"
With S.H.I.E.L.D. rotten to the core and HYDRA splintered all over the world, MADAME HYDRA is teaming up with the new Hand to reclaim the power of the Japanese underworld. And you know what that means... the Avengers versus ninjas!!! Lots and lots and lots of ninjas. Part 2 (of 3).

Oh, boy. Ninjas. That's got Ultron and Count Nefaria beat all to hell.

INCREDIBLE HULK #87
Written by PETER DAVID
Pencils & Cover by ADAM KUBERT
Inked by JOHN DELL
Stand Alone Issue! The events of House of M are over...or are they? Bruce Banner and A.I.M. Scientist Supreme, Monica Rappaccini, find themselves in league one more time as Scorpion is forced to face the fury of the Hulk in order to bring her diabolical mother to justice.

Okay, that's interesting. Particularly given that Adam Kubert is now exclusive to DC.

NEW THUNDERBOLTS #13 & #14
Written by FABIAN NICIEZA
Pencils and Cover by TOM GRUMMETT
GUEST-STARRING THE NEW AVENGERS!
There is a new superhuman team the government can't trust whose roster is made up of questionable choices. Unaccountable. Uncontrollable. Unknown. So the Commission on Superhuman Activities has a "request" for the New Thunderbolts -- take down the New Avengers! You know what that can only lead to... Songbird vs. Captain America! Photon vs. Sentry! Radioactive Man vs. Iron Man! Speed Demon vs. Spider-Man! Atlas vs. Cage! Joystick vs. Spider-Man! Place your bets, pick your winners, but know that the only sure outcome will be nasty throw-downs and long-term ramifications in the Mighty Marvel Manner!

Hmmmm. Photon vs. Sentry. That sounds pretty cool.

Jack Russel IS Werewolf by Night, Michael.

Michael said...

Yeah, but he's not in this. There's Vampire by Night, the character that's been running in the backups for Amazing Fantasy, but no Werewolf by Night.

Which reminds me that I ought to dust off the Werewolf By Night pitch I came up with back in November and see if it can be tweaked for someone like IDW.
